This is a very simple over view of the first half of the Tribulation (First 1,260 days)
SEAL JUDGMENTS
The First Seal (Rev 6:1-2) – A White Horse - Antichrist revealed, peace covenant signed.
The
Second Seal (Rev 6:3-4) – A Red Horse - World war begins.
The Third
Seal (Rev 6:5-6) – A Black Horse - Famine and inflation results from war.
The
Fourth Seal (Rev 6:7-8) – A Pale Horse - Death (result of starvation, war and disease) will destroy one fourth of
the world’s population.
The Fifth Seal (Rev 6:9-11) – Tribulation
saints martyred (new believers in Christ will be killed because of their faith).
The
Sixth Seal (Rev 6:12) – Great worldwide earthquake like the world has never seen before.
The
Seventh Seal (Rev 8:1-2) - Heaven pauses for half an hour. Then God gives seven angels, who have
been standing before Him waiting for this day, seven trumpets, which are the next seven judgments to be released.
TRUMPET JUDGMENTS
The First Trumpet (Rev 8:7) – Hail and fire fall from the sky (could be literal or nuclear)
and destroy one-third of the earth’s surface.
The Second
Trumpet (Rev 8:8-9) – A mountain of fire (could be literal or nuclear) is thrown into the sea. One
third of the sea is turned into blood, one third of the ocean life dies and one third of the ships are destroyed.
The Third Trumpet (Rev 8:10-11) – Giant burning
meteorite called Wormwood falls from the sky and pollutes one third of the world’s water supply.
The Fourth Trumpet (Rev 8:12) – There will be 16 hours
of darkness and 8 hours of light each day.
The Fifth
Trumpet (Rev 9:1-11) – For five months a plague of scorpion-like locusts will attack all non-Christians.
The victims will want to die because of the torture, but they will not perish. All Christians and
vegetation are protected from this judgment.
The Sixth Trumpet (Rev
9:13-21) – Four evil angels will be released along with their army of 200,000,000 horsemen. They
will kill one-third of the earth’s current population. All Christians are once again protected from
this judgment.
The Seventh Trumpet (Rev 11:15-18) –
The angels sing a chorus to God and the elders worship God. This signifies the next round of judgments
to begin.
There are some key events that take place
at this point during the middle of the Tribulation (Rev 12-13). The anti-christ will be killed with a wound
to the head and three days later he will rise again (this is his imitation of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus
Christ). When he is raised up, he will be indwelt by Satan. Also, the anti-christ will
blaspheme God and defile the Temple. The anti-christ will force everyone to receive a mark on the right hand or forehead in
order to buy or sell goods. Anyone who does not take the mark is killed. Jewish believers
will begin to flee to the mountains (most likely Petra located in Jordan) where God will protect them.
