The disciples asked Jesus, "What
will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" The answer Jesus gave is recorded in Matthew 24:1-51,
Mark 13:1-37 and Luke 21:5-36. Because Jesus wants everyone to watch, wait and be ready for His return, Jesus gave specific
signs that would precede the Rapture and His Second coming.
Every
generation of Christians has lived with the hope of the imminent return of Jesus. It is true He could come at any moment
for we are positively living in the last days. No prophetic event remains to be fulfilled before Jesus raptures His
Church.
(Matthew 24:6-7) You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still
to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes
in various places.
(Luke 21:9-11, 25) When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the
end will not come right away. Then he said to them: Nation will rise against
nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes,
famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. There will be signs
in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
(Mark 13:7-8) When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places,
and famines.
